Initiated by a group of Singaporean businessmen in Hong Kong, the Singapore Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong) was incorporated in Hong Kong in September 1995 with the support of the Singapore Consulate-General, the then Singapore Trade Development Board, the Singapore Economic Development Board and the Singapore Tourism Board.

The Objectives and Mission of SCC is:

  • To foster closer economic links, business understanding and co-operation between Singapore, Hong Kong, China and other countries in the region.
  • To establish channels of communication and ongoing dialogue amongst its members and with relevant government organizations in Singapore, Hong Kong, PRC and other countries.
  • To associate and co-operate with other chambers of commerce, relevant trade organizations and associations in Singapore, Hong Kong, the PRC and other countries.
  • To collect, evaluate and disseminate statistics and other information relating to trade and industry which are beneficial to members.
  • To encourage involvement and contribution by members to further the objectives of the Chamber.

History and Background:

Cored by a group of Singaporean businessmen with business commitment in the territory and the region diversifying in various business fields and representing critical areas in the territory's trade chain, the Singapore Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong) was incorporated in Hong Kong in September 1995. The Chamber's mission is to foster closer business links, economic understanding and co-operation between Singapore, Hong Kong, China and other areas in the region. The Chamber's objectives are to establish channels of communication and maintain ongoing dialogue among its members. It will also help forge links with relevant government bodies, agencies and departments in Singapore, Hong Kong, China and around the region. The Chamber collects, evaluates and disseminates statistics and other information relating to industry and trade. The Chamber will also encourage its members to contribute to and become more involved in the business communities in Hong Kong, Singapore, China and other areas in the region. The Chamber offers business support services using its extensive statistics and directories database, which cover wide range of topics related to trade and commerce, industries, investment and other related services in Hong Kong, the PRC and Singapore. The Chamber establishes a network of connections with business leaders of both local and international companies in the region, other trade associations and government agencies. To maintain these links and expand membership, the Chamber holds regular lunch meetings, executive seminars and other joint functions.The Chamber is supported by the Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore in Hong Kong, the Singapore Trade Development Board, the Singapore Economic Development Board and the Singapore Tourism Board.
